Hi guys and welcome to my blog! My name is Kate and I am an aspiring knitwear designer. I am trying to knit full size garments to sell on my Etsy shop so you can follow my journey on here.
I have made two shrugs. If you are interested in buying them please visit my shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/katesknitwear.
For the first shrug I used blackberry stitch for the basis of the design. I knitted a long rectangle as shown below.
This makes the entire shrug, as the rectangle makes the front back and sleeves. I then did a crochet edge on the shortest sides of the rectangle which will be the sleeves to give them a finished edge. I then folded the rectangle in half and sewed the edges together to form the sleeves. The next step was to make a a simple knitted edge to go around the inside of the shrug to make the it look finished and more professional.

Et voila! This shrug is perfect to wear on cool Summer evenings!

The second shrug design is worked in the same way except this time I used a ladder design.
I then embellished the design using sequins.
This design is sewn up in the same way as the first and again is perfect for cool Summer evenings.

And finally for the cute factor..... This is my cat Monty on a typical day. What a hard life!
